Donna L. HarperDONNA L. HARPER has practiced employment law exclusively for over 30 years. For more than 25 years, Ms. Harper prosecuted employment discrimination cases at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in St. Louis, Denver and Los Angeles. During her career at the Commission, she served as Supervisory Trial Attorney and Acting Assistant General Counsel, and helped train a generation of EEOC trial attorneys. She was three times awarded EEOC’s highest honor, the Chairman’s Organizational Award. In March, 2004, Washington University School of Law awarded her its Access to Equal Justice Award.

Ms. Harper joined Mary Anne Sedey to form the Sedey Harper firm in 2006. In private practice, Ms. Harper represents clients in employment discrimination matters, whistleblower actions, severance negotiations, FLSA and FMLA litigation.

Since entering private practice, Ms. Harper has consistently been recognized as one of Missouri’s Super Lawyers – in Missouri’s top 5% of all Missouri and Kansas attorneys.

Ms. Harper was named an American Bar Association (ABA) Fellow in 2002, and served in the Labor and Employment Law Section’s Class and Complex Litigation Subcommittee. She was selected as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in 2004 and has served on its Credentials Committee for 3 years. She also served on the Boards of the Women Lawyers Association of St. Louis, the St. Louis Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, and on NELAs National Convention Committee. She has been an active speaker around the country at ABA annual conferences on Employment Law, NELA conferences and state and local bar conferences, and was an Editor of BNAs Employment Discrimination Law Treatise, Chapter 29, 2009 edition.

Ms. Harper taught both trial practice and pretrial practice and procedure at both St. Louis University School of Law and Washington University School of Law for more than ten years; was an instructor at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy; and taught for EEOCs Office of General Counsel for more than fifteen years.

Ms. Harper received her B.A. cum laude from St. Louis University and is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Law.
