ADA Attorney in St. Charles County
Over 40 Years Fighting for Disabled Workers. We Never Represent Employers.
When an employer in St. Charles County denies a reasonable accommodation, terminates someone because of a disability, or retaliates against a worker for requesting help, that conduct is illegal under federal and Missouri law. At Sedey Harper Westhoff, we represent employees in ADA and disability discrimination cases. With over 40 years of employment law experience, we work for individuals, not employers, insurers, or corporations.
Workers denied accommodations or fired because of a disability may have claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA), or both. Compensation in successful cases can include back pay, front pay, emotional distress damages, and attorney’s fees.
If you believe your employer has violated your rights, contact us today for a free consultation at (314) 819-0963. There’s no cost to find out where you stand.
ADA Claims We Handle for St. Charles County Employees
Disability discrimination claims may involve hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoffs, training, benefits, accommodation denials, or retaliation. We handle the full range of employer conduct that constitutes a violation, from hiring decisions to termination and everything in between.
Discrimination in Employment Conditions
We represent workers who have faced discrimination in hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoffs, training, and benefits. If a disability played a role in those decisions, a claim may exist.
Denial of Reasonable Accommodation
The ADA defines a disability as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. Employers must provide reasonable accommodations unless doing so would create an undue hardship on their operations. Accommodations can include modified schedules, equipment adjustments, policy changes, or reassignment to a vacant position.
We handle cases where employers refused to engage in that process or denied a reasonable request.
Retaliation
Retaliation occurs when an employer fires, demotes, or otherwise penalizes a worker for requesting an accommodation or filing a discrimination charge. It’s a separate violation, and we pursue those claims alongside the underlying discrimination.
Disability discrimination can also arise when an employer takes adverse action because of a worker’s association with someone who has a disability. We’ve litigated hundreds of employment cases covering discrimination, retaliation, and related claims.
